There is no need to buy bottled barbecue sauce. It is so simple to make and uses pantry ingredients. Perfect on chicken, ribs, burgers, or as a pizza sauce for BBQ pizza!

Sweet and Smoky Barbecue Sauce
Dark Brown Sugar

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Imperial Sugar Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried chipotle powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper


  1. Put all of the ingredients in a small saucepan and simmer over medium-low heat for 20 minutes. The sauce will thicken and develop flavor.
  2. Transfer to a container and keep in the fridge for up to two weeks.
