In 1972, Dixie Crystals was the official sugar at all Walt Disney World properties. These famous Blueberry Muffins were served at the Walt Disney World Contemporary and Polynesian resorts in the 1970’s. Enjoy a great throwback one-bowl recipe that the whole family will love!

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour*
  • 1/2 cup Imperial Sugar Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries or 3/4 cup canned blueberries

*Spoon & Sweep method: Use a spoon to fill measuring cup with flour until required amount is obtained. Scooping measuring cup directly into flour bag will firmly pack flour resulting in too much flour required for recipe.


  1. Preheat oven to 380°F. Line a muffin pan with paper liners and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl add flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Whisk together.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil and vanilla extract and whisk until smooth. Fold in blueberries.
  4. Fill muffin cups 2/3rd way full. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes, until muffins are lightly browned and spring back to the touch.
  5. These muffins freeze well. To serve, wrap in foil and heat in 250°F oven.
